Entry: Invitations May 18, 2004

Some major progress has been made regarding our lovely wedding invitations. We were able to print out all the trillions (exaggerating here) of pieces of vellum, and over the course of the past few days I have been assembling them every evening once the children have gone to bed. I have run out of ribbon twice now, but after we go back to hobby lobby today and get the last little bit, this project will be completed and they will take a trip down to the post office. Yay! I am feeling very accomplished this morning.
*does a happy dance*
Now that is out of my system, I can start complaining about my dress. I am stressing out because it's still on layaway and I need to get it out very soon so I can have it altered a teensy bit. I decided to make the sleeves a tad longer afterall, I just don't feel comfortable with the sleeves as they are now. They are short sleeves, about the length of T-shirt sleeves I guess, but they are tighter than a T-shirt's sleeves, and a hint of my wretched tattoo I got when I was 17 peeks it's ugly head out from under it. I tried thinking up creative ways to cover it, but all of my ideas just sounded tacky. My last option: have the sleeves lengthened. I met a seamstress who assured me adding an inch or two to the sleeve bottom would be a cinch, and not a huge expensive project.
I am also getting sad, because I know my dear Chunk has to leave again in a couple of days. We've had a great visit, and I am not ready for him to leave yet!! My consolation is that we will be together always in just a few weeks. I just have to keep that in mind. (Note to self: I will NOT die without him, I will NOT die without him, I will NOT die without him, I will NOT die without him). Ok, so I am being a little over dramatic today. It's fun though, right?

Someone told me we were dumb for registering at Wal-mart. I have to strongly disagree here. We need stuff for our home, and if we were to be buying it ourselves, we would most definitely be shopping at Wal-mart for the things we need, so it would be only fair to register where we would shop ourselves in my mind. Getting married isn't about wanting to get gifts from expensive places, it's about 2 people joining together and starting a life, and the things they need should be practical. Am I totally wrong here? I personally love Wal-mart to bits and it's where I buy pretty much everything from kids clothes, to laundry soap, to CD's and movies. They have everything, and it's affordable for everyone. Plus, the Wal-mart gift registry site gives you these nifty little announcements with your registry number on it to put with your invitations. Here is what they look like,  (only doing this because I haven't posted a picture in awhile, haha)

Nifty eh? I think so at least, and I am bridezilla, Mua ha ha ha ha, only what I say matters!!!!! (more drama). ok, that's all for the update, hope everyone is well and having a fantabulous day!!

Don't fret the WalMart thing! If they had had that back when I got married I would have done the same thing. As it was, I did not register anywhere b/c I did not want expensive stuff in my house for my baby to break. I am getting so excited for you.
